Aloha and Happy Monday everyone,
Not many Homeowners remember the importance of having their pool inspected yearly. There are many things to look for during these inspections, but today we are talking about swimming pool drain covers aka VGB/ Anti entrapment covers in pools. It is very important that these are up to date and compliant as well as inspected regularly. Here are a few things to look for
Ensure that the covers are not missing, they have all screws securing it in place, not cracked deteriorating or damaged in any way. Double check that the cover is in date. The cover should have vital information:
- Cover life
- Flow rate (should meet or exceed max system flow)
- multiple or single use
If you cannot confirm the life of the cover, it is always better to replace with a new VGB compliant drain cover.
